ReAcToR Question!!..YOU'RE QUESTIONS..ANSWERED!!

That's right, folks!! And from now on..you're all welcome to bring it on!! Ask me questions about beauty..skin care (I AM an Esthetician, you know..), make up, beauty, fashion...or get personal...I may or may not answer you honestly, so remember that when preparing your question. MUAHAHAHAH! Simply leave a comment with the question and I'm on it! It's that easy, really. Just try it.

So today, I got a question..

"Why is your skin so flawless?!" - Renay101

First off, let me assure you, Renay..my skin is certainly NOT flawless!! :) I have every problem a typical, 26 year old woman would have..including: hormonal issues, discoloration, uneven skin tone, fine lines and wrinkles. I have a horrible web cam attached to my computer monitor, that I use to record my videos, for the most part. SMOKE AND MIRRORS AND SHITTY WEBCAMS! It DOES hide a whole bunch of minor skin issues that I have going on at the moment.

Second and most importantly, I can admit that I do have fairly good skin because I know how to take care of it. It's all about knowing your individual skin type and knowing the best/ most affordable way to treat it. You can do this by adopting a consistent and appropriate skin routine to allow your individual skin type function it's best, all on it's own!

One important step to achieving flawless skin is proper EXFOLIATION. I use an Aspirin scrub every other day to keep my skin cells rejuvenated and to slough off all the gunk that I don't want to be there. This will ensure the perfect canvas for any make up application. I highly recommend incorporating an Aspirin mask or scrub into your skin care routine as it is highly affordable and effective way to exfoliate your skin. Why, you ask? Well, darlins, it's the Salicylic Acid that is in the Aspirin!! So make sure to get the un-coated variety to dissolve them much faster. The coated kind WILL work, though it's a bit more of a hassle getting them to dissolve.

I use 7-8 pills and dissolve in the shower's hot water..about a drop per pill's worth. When I can mash them all into a paste with my finger..it's ready to be applied, GENTLY, to the face in circular motions. Make sure you've properly cleansed beforehand! Let the Aspirin sit on your skin and allow the Salicylic Acid to dissolve all the crap on your skin that creates build up and nastiness for about 10-15 minutes..the length of your shower. Wow, that was a run on sentence if I ever did see one!! Well, there's your answer, Renay..

See? It's easy! Just post a comment question to this blog post..or future ReAcToR blog posts..and I'll pick one every so often to respond to..and voila. There you go! It's fun, ain't it?!

:)

1006 Subscribers to My YouTube Channel? And a note..

It's true!! Click here to go check out my youtube channel, subscribe and be part of the madness!!
I don't know what to say other than it is completely unreal to me, since I figured I'd be looking at around 100 subscribers..tops. I love all my subbies and plan on doing a special video for you all tomorrow! So expect it up soon.

Also, I'm sure many of you already know I have a husband whom I love more than life, itself. His name is Ted and he's my crazy man.

He blogs as well...on blog spot..I urge you all to check out his blog..click here to see my husband's blog, Drone.Devil!

Here's his "About Me"..

I am an artsy fag. Get used to it because maybe, just maybe, one day you will all be unlucky enough to subjected to one of my "art" pieces. I am a bit of a hermit, you might even call me an elitist, a fascist and almost certainly a pariah. Also, I'm married to the single most beautiful, most talented woman one can ever hope to meet. It's as if she stepped out of a dream. There is a fire in her soul that burns brighter than any sun. A purity that outshines god & I can only pray her luminescence can eventually bring light to the human vortex that I call my "self". I don't know what contest in hell she won, but honey, I love ya!

I feel like the lucky one...I just wanted to spread the word..my psycho hubby is on blogspot! He is an amazing artist, a truly unique voice in this universe..which is probably what drew me to him in the first place. I love you, Teddy!

A weekend, movie review: Martyrs!

First off, happy freakin' weekend everyone! I hope yall's weekend is going as good & as relaxing as mine.

Tonight, my husband and I watched the French film, Martyrs. It was released in 2008 & directed/written by Pascal Laugier. You should be able to rent this flick, unrated, from most respectable movie rental establishments. I highly recommend you do this as soon as possible! Or just buy it, if you are a gore/horror junkie like I am.

There is no easy way to sum up the whole of this picture. I've heard it compared to the HORRIBLE, Eli Roth (douche-bag) directed Hostel...and I agree to a small degree. The only similarities that the two movies share is the notion of an organization capturing and torturing people. Martyrs, though went all the way with the depravity and skipped out completely on the frat boy bullshit. I'd say this shares more with Rosemary's Baby than that Hostel flick.

This movie transcends the common notions of what horror can be. Finally...a new horror film that I can really sink my teeth into. Is France the new place to look out for in the world of horror? Could be...maybe not though, who knows.

This movie gets going from the very beginning & does not let up until the very end. If you are squeamish at all, I'd say stay away from this one. If not, again, I highly recommend it.

SPOILERS!

Like I said, this movie transcends the common horror genre cliches. In fact, this movie reminds a lot of Aja's High Tension, which is also another French horror gem. The big difference here though, is that Aja and co. can't write an original screenplay to save their lives. Excellent filmmakers, unimaginative writer's.

Pascal Laugier keeps you on the edge of your seat. There is NO way to predict where this movie is headed for as it progresses. The end is freaking awesome....but then again the whole movie is.

So, it starts out like a typical revenge flick. You've got these two girls, one of which had been tortured and somehow escaped from some abandoned building. This girl appears to be haunted and tormented by a ghost or some freakish woman from hell. At one point I assumed it could have been her, in her psychosis, personified (ala High Tension). The other girl seems fairly well adjusted and acts as her care giver.

Jump to 15 years later and we're into full on revenge mode. We get to see a family of four gunned down by the more tormented of the two girls. Her name is Lucie and she has a penchant for double barreled shotguns and straight razors. As Lucie falls deeper into her psychosis, the other girl, Anna, is left to pick up the pieces...which pretty much means the disposing of dead bodies.

Lucie, still going deeper into madness, is confronted by her ghostly demon. We, at this point, have learned that this "ghost" is the image of a tortured girl she had left to die years ago while making her own escape. So the guilt manifests itself as a ghost. Anna never sees the ghost, just Lucie cutting away at her own flesh.

So...after Lucie's apparent suicide, Anna is still in the house and accidentally finds a hidden passageway that leads to a hidden, sterile basement. Turns out that there is yet ANOTHER one of these tortured girl's which Anna tries her best to help.

THEN, we see like 5 people dressed in black rushing into the house, gunning down the recently rescued girl, removing all the bodies, and just leaving us in a general state of awe.

All you need to know from this point on, is that there is this somewhat cult like group of people hellbent on manufacturing martyrs. What does that mean exactly? Just watch the movie and find out for yourselves, darlins!

An Update Regarding My Mineral Magic Venture!

While I am no longer doing my Fierce Fridays, due to my inability to physically stick to the commitment AND do what I want with my channel, stick with doc appointments, etc...I just couldn't carry the load anymore.

Luckily, I am going to still be releasing my Mad Madam Jess Exclusive Mineral Magic Collection VERY soon!!! HOORAY!!! Here are the list of the luscious, six, matte shades that you can either wear alone OR to exceedingly define your pre-existing Mineral Magic pigments with! The names of my shades are: Crow, Swamp, Alley - Gator, Rusty Blade, Great White and Shrouded!!!

In this pic, I am wearing Kellie's Mineral Magic pigments as well as my own Collection! The outer edge of my lids are Alley-Gator...the gorgeous, shimmering color above all that lush green is my Rusty Blade. See how blendable these MATTE shades are? They will soon be available for you all to get your grubby little hands on...very very soon!!!

Here, Swamp is featured to create the "glowing" crease effect! Earthy yet striking and versatile. I am wearing Kellie's, Doodles on my lids, fading into Ruby on the outer lids. Then Swamp bursts out from the crease to give this warm, neutral look, the POP of a lifetime.

In this saucy look, I'm wearing Kellie's already STUNNING pigment in Hot Pink..the dark blue/black shade that seems to glow..which all of these colors seem to do, is called Crow. Just like the color of a Crow's feathers in the sunlight. Crow makes for an incredibly easy application and versatility..as it makes for a stand out liner when applied with a damp brush or mixing medium.

The only two pigments that have yet to be mixed and used for a look on my eyes as a tester...are Great White and Shrouded. Great White, inspired by one of my amazing, youtube friends, is an amazingly creamy, matte, white pigment with notes of blue and grey. Perfect for those dramatic, sparkling eye lids when you don't want a shimmery highlight under the brow bone! Shrouded is a warmer, cream color which is a great highlight when you don't want to use a white pigment.

Great White and Shrouded will be mixed and played with on my face very soon! Expect the collection soon to be available at Mineral Magic Cosmetics !! <-- Click the link!! So no more Fierce Fridays....but the Mad Madam Jess, Exclusive Mineral Magic Collection is still on. Don't worry, all my beautiful friends that already are dying to get a hold of one of my collections..soon, darlins!!!! Love you all!!

Movie Review: Priscilla: The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert

From 1994, this movie is one of my all time favorites!! It's a musical...one....it's got drag queens...two...it's got a wonderful message....ok I gotta stop counting cause the hits just won't stop coming.

This film was made by Stephan Elliott and stars an extraordinary cast...

Hugo Weaving as Tick / Mitzi

Yes, it's Agent Smith from the Matrix..and he is a super fierce drag queen with a son and wife..so he puts a show together with Terence Stamp..yes, General Zod from Superman..ZOD!!!

HE happens to be a veteran lay girl in her hay day...He plays Bernadette who is quite the lady...so beautiful..

And there's a third member of this traveling, drag show...HIGH QUALITY, AMAZING drag show....Guy Pierce as Adam / Felicia.

Three amazing actors playing these incredibly deep and real roles..flawless as their lipstick. I love this movie. I've always loved it..but at 12:45 AM on a Wednesday morn, I figured you should all see this and watch it ifn' ya haven't..here's my favorite clip..

Fabulous!! LOVE IT!! Revel in the fierceness!!! ROWR!!

He writes with a flair and an ere of confidence you just can't argue with. Me...I talk, and the earth moves under my feet.

All I have is my essence and my will to rip everything to fucking pieces...

Food and Dessert Places Reviewed

1st of all, the Best Sushi In San Antonio, TX goes to: Tokyo Steak House and Sushi Bar located off San Pedro, north of NW Loop 410. This place totally beats the shit out of Godai, who can in fact...go off and die. The sushi is always fresh and delicious, the service is beyond belief and the food has been consistently great every visit.

Depending on the specific sushi chef that is working when you go, there is a very individualistic style that is prevalent. You always get what is expected...damn good sushi. Sometimes, you get the unexpected...like when my husband ate salmon roe without even knowing it...AND loving it. The Teppanyaki Table experience is amazing...better than Benihana anyday...I can't speak for Sushi Zushi but they make it quite an experience for the money spent.

2nd, let's talk about Thai Dee. Located off of Blanco, south of NW Loop 410.....don't be fooled...I'm not talking about Sawasdee which is also on Blanco...south of 410. It's further south and nestled next to a convenient store and a small mechanic's station. This place is truly authentic and consistent. We are now VIP customers since we are pals with the owners because we eat there so often. They know our tummies very well. Amazing curry dishes, including Kao Soi await you. The Pad Thai looks simple enough, but it delivers the goods in flavor. There are so many of the menu's dishes that we have tried and loved. Easily, the best crab rangoon in town. We've tried them all, Ted and me. Some highlights are the Pad Thai, Kao Soi, Khee-mao, Moo-Ping and the Panang Noodles. Affordable and delicious, that's how I love my women and my restaurants. Don't let the exterior fool you. This place is a diamond in the rough. The owner, Toi will welcome you like family and serve you a meal made with love and devotion to her heritage.

3rd Prime Cultures (REAL Frozen Yogurt!) ..just tried this place out on a whim. It was either this or a Frappocino at Starfucks and my husband let me know of it's existence. You'll find it North of Hildebrand on McCoullough. It's a small shop that has only been open for a mere month or so but we hope they stick around and flourish. The cashier guy is a little weird and doesn't seem super competent..sorry dude. But when you get passed that, the actual product is unique, fresh, delicious and super healthy! We both were very surprised and loved the joint along with it's awkward cashier and proprietor. I'm sure they'll come into their own someday. ;-) Seriously, it's yummy..go with the Original and have some granola on top.....YUM! Or cereal or fruits or nuts or chocolate chips or even honey...they've got a few different kinds of yogurt...Green Tea Flavor, Cranberry / Pomegranate, and possible another one, I can't really recall at the moment. It all seemed very fresh and we both give this little, dessert / health bar 8 tentacles up!!!!
